Felt Leaf Garland

Get your home ready for the holidays with this simple Felt Leaf Garland DIY.

Festive doesn’t always need to break the bank and sometimes the best decorations are handmade from the heart. Gather the whole family together for a crafternoon of fun!

What You Need

  • Twisted Cord (with Lip)
  • White Lightweight Felt
  • Glue Gun & Sticks
  • Scissors & Pins

What You Do

Step 1: You will need 25” (63.5cm) of White Twisted Cord with Lip. Cut out Leaf pattern from White Lightweight Felt.

TIP: Fold Felt in half, pin and cut pattern to reduce cutting time.

Step 2: Fold and Glue the bottom of the Leaf together. Continue for all Leaves.

Step 3: Glue the first Leaf to the Lip of your Twisted Cord Trim, 1” (2.5cm) away from the end of the trim. Glue the second Leaf to the opposite side of the Lip, approximately 1/2” (1cm) further down the trim than the previous Leaf. Glue the end of the Trim to the edges of the Leaves to keep from fraying.

Step 4: Continue gluing the Leaves to either side of the Lip until you reach the end of the Trim. The leaves should be glued approximately 1” (2.5cm) apart from the Leaf before it.

TIP: Glue the Leaves closer together or further apart to achieve your desired look.

Step 5: Wrap the final Leaf around the end of the Trim and glue in place. This will prevent fraying and gives a cleaner look.

Mix & match colours of felt with colours of twisted cord to coordinate with your decor or add pops of festive colour.
