What You Need:
- Rit Dye (Yellow & Orange)
- Glue Gun & Sticks
- Squirt Bottles
- 3 Foam Cones
- Bag Cord
- Cutter
What You Do:
Step 1: Cut 3/4” (2cm) off the bottom of a 9.5” (24.3cm) Foam Cone and glue that piece to the bottom of another 9.5” (24.3cm) Foam Cone.
Step 2: Now you have three varying heights to complete a three piece set, with the largest cone at 11.8” (30cm) high.
Step 3: Starting from the bottom of the cone, use Bag Cord to completely cover the foam. Continue over all three cones.
*Note: When you reach the end of the cord, it may help to cut at a 45 degree angle. This will make it easier to hide the ends/tuck them for a clean look.
Step 4: Mix Dye with warm water in a squirt bottle and shake well. Start with Yellow on the middle section of the cones. Be careful not to get any dye on the top portion of your Candy Corn. Then dye the lower area of your cone with Orange.
*Optional: Use ColorStay Dye Fixative, with the spray method, to reduce bleeding and fading. This should be done immediately after dyeing.
Step 5: Let the dye set, then rinse in cold water. Now wait for your Candy Corn Cones to dry.
