Hoppy Easter Bunny Ears DIY
What better way to accessorize for Easter than with your own set of bunny ears! This Flexible Bunny Ears DIY, available in both adult & kid styles, is a fun make to create & wear.
Flexible Glitter Bunny Ears (Kids)
What you need:
-Measuring tape
-Quilting Pins
-Craft Scissors
-Hot Glue Gun
-Hand Sewing Needle
-White Thread
-Glitter Tulle Spool
-1 Metre Scroll Gimp
-2 Metres Colourful Fringe
-Headband
-Nose Bridge with Adhesive
What you do:
Step 1: Cut out 2 layers of tulle per bunny ear. (See Bunny Ear pattern)
Step 2: Pin 2 layers together to stabilize pieces. Glitter facing the outside.
Step 3: Take sticker peel off the nose bridge.
Step 4: Stick nose bridge with adhesive onto tulle. TIP: Cut metal to better fit the shape of the ears.
Step 5: Sew gimp over nose bridge material by hand.
Step 6: Flip ear.
Step 7: Stick nose bridge pieces to tulle covering stitches. Both sides now have the nose bridge pieces.
Step 8: Sew gimp over nose bridge material by hand. This time, sew the inside of the gimp together followed by the outside together.
Step 9: Your Ears are done and need to be attached to the headband, but first we’re going to decorate the headband itself.
Step 10: Take 9 pieces of fringe. Divide them into 3 pieces and braid them. Keep them together by hot glue gunning the ends. Do this for at least 1 metre worth of fringe.
Step 11: Hand sew or hot glue gun braided fringe to bottom of the headband.
Step 12: Take the second layer and sew or hot glue gun it facing the opposite direction.
Step 13: Hot glue gun braided fringe to the headband layering each side. Cut off loose unbraided tail.
Step 14: Bend bottom of bunny ears and hot glue gun it to the headband. Cover with braid.
Flexible Sheer Bunny Ears (Adult)
What you need:
-Measuring tape
-Quilting Pins
-Craft Scissors
-Hot Glue Gun
-Hand Sewing Needle
-Black Thread
-Black Tulle Spool
-1.5 Metres Scroll Gimp
-1 Metre 1″ Velvet Ribbon
-Headband
-Nose Bridge with Adhesive
Step 1: Cut out 4 layers of tulle per bunny ear. (See Bunny Ear pattern)
Step 2: Pin 4 layers together to stabilize pieces.
Step 3: Take sticker peel off the nose bridge.
Step 4: Stick nose bridge with adhesive onto tulle. TIP: Cut metal to better fit the shape of the ears.
Step 5: Sew gimp over nose bridge material by hand.
Step 6: Flip ear.
Step 7: Stick nose bridge pieces to tulle covering stitches. Both sides now have the nose bridge pieces.
Step 8: Sew gimp over nose bridge material by hand. This time, sew the inside of the gimp together followed by the outside together.
Step 9: Your Ears are done and need to be attached to the headband.
Step 10: Bend the bottom of the bunny ears 1/2″. Hand sew each bent piece to ribbon. Keep a 1.5″ space in between each ear.
Step 11: Cover each bent end of ear with 1.5″ (4cm) of ribbon. Hand sew around.
Step 12: Pin ribbon to the center of the headband and hand sew ribbon to the satin that in on your headband.
