Microwave Potato Bag DIY

Baked potatoes in the microwave just got more fun! Check out this great DIY using your favourite cotton fabric & Pellon® Wrap-N-Zap™ Cotton Batting. We made our bag using ‘Prima Cotton’ Chocolate for the lining & the Potato print from the ‘Vegetable Garden’ collection, which seemed truly fitting!

What You Need
- Measuring Tape
- Quilting Pins
- Craft Scissors
- Sewing Machine & Thread
- Water Soluble Dressmaking Pencil
- 1 pkg of Pellon® Wrap-N-Zap™ Cotton Batting
- 9″ (23 cm) Cotton Fabric (Lining)
- 9″ (23 cm) Cotton Fabric (Outer)
What You Do
Step 1: Measure your cotton fabrics & batting to 9″ x 20″ (23cm x 51cm) size. Place & trace pattern at the centre top and cut off remnant.

Step 2: You should now have three pattern pieces; two of cotton fabric & one of Wrap-N-Zap™ Cotton Batting.

Step 3: Layer the fabric right sides out with Wrap-N-Zap™ cotton batting in the middle.

Step 4: Measure and pin a 3″ (7.6cm) opening on one of the side edges. This will be used to turn the project right side out.

Step 5: Stitch around all sides and back stitch leaving the 3″ (7.6cm) opening where the pins have designated in Step 4.

Step 6: Turn the fabric right side out. Stitch the opening closed.

Step 7: Fold 7-1/2″ from the flat bottom and top stitch along sides to create pocket.
