Appliques and patches are a great way to add some flair to any clothing…perfect for a quick back-to-school project or gift idea.

Super easy temporary appliques have an adhesive backing.  Just place firmly for 20-25 seconds for an instant application and when you’re ready to wash your items, remove and return to the card and reapply afterwards.

Or use the iron-on versions for a more permanent look.  Set your iron to a dry heat on the lowest setting, place your applique and on the back use your heated iron to apply pressure for 20-25 seconds.  Allow to cool to properly set before wearing.

Tired of Tie Dye? Try ICE DYE!

Materials Needed:

• Choose up to three colours of Dylon® Natural Fabric Dye.

• Have a bucket or bin, a grate, a garbage bag and lots of ice handy.

• PLUS one plain, light coloured cotton item to dye, like a t-shirt or tote bag.
Step 1:

Wet the article to be dyed. Place grate on bucket and bucket atop the garbage bag, which will protect the table surface from any dye splashes. Scrunch up the damp item and place on the grate with the front facing up.

Step 2:

Cover the item in ice, as shown.Step 3:

Sprinkle dye crystals directly over the ice, in a colour design of your choosing. More crystals will give you a darker colour and greater saturation, a light sprinkling will give a lighter, more subtle colouring.

Tip to Remember: colour rules apply when dyeing. For example: pink sprinkled with yellow will create orange. To Finish:

Leave overnight. Rinse thoroughly, then air dry.
